Founded in 2003, Alchemy Inc. is a non-profit organization transforming lives through mythological stories and fairy tales. Our goal is to develop a sense of purpose in urban adolescents through discussion, critical thinking and by incorporating the character traits of the hero into their own lives; “Becoming the hero in their own stories.”
Program Results
Alchemy, Inc. offers a group environment for youth to focus on topics directly related to their stage of development. Youth who have engaged our program:
Increased their Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)
Increased their school attendance
Increased their high Grade Point Averages
Increased high school graduation rates
Increased their college acceptance rates
Developed the character traits necessary to succeed in life
National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award
In 2012, Alchemy was one of 12 programs to receive the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award by the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities—the nation’s highest honor for after-school and out-of-school programs.
