Alchemy names Dr. Lathardus Goggins II Executive Director

AKRON, OH — The Alchemy board of directors has announced the hiring of Dr. Lathardus Goggins II as Executive Director. Goggins joins Alchemy founder G. Kwame Scruggs, Ph.D., who has been named Founder and Director of Programs and Training. The move represents a key step in the organization’s capacity-building initiatives.

Goggins has been an advocate for youth and education for more than 30 years, including working with at-risk youth as a Prevention Specialist. His scholastic research includes examining the relationships between socialization, learning theories and academic achievement, and using the “rites of passage” model as a framework for educators.
